Ryan and I would like to take a day off from the tips to help animals and instead help ourselves remember one particular animal. Link would have been six years old today, if his life wasn’t cut short by presumably cancer. Since losing Link we started an odd tradition of eating pineapple on his birthday. He was never given people food and never showed an interest in eating it - except for pineapple, he would go nuts. I never let him have any but I would let him lick the tiny amount of juice off the fork. Link had the sweetest, most intimate purr and the softest fur. I feel lucky that we were brought together even though his time here was so short. I wish that he could be here so we could really celebrate his birthday. Instead, we will take the immense love that we have for him and use it to motivate us to help animals in need.
We love you Link.

He looks adorable. I am sorry for your loss. It is really sweet of you to commemorate his birthday this way.
